Denver’s Big Christmas Tree Switches Holiday Music to Colorado Tunes
The holidays have come and gone, but the Mile High Tree is still up.
According to CBS4 in Denver, the city has a tradition that holiday lights remain on display through the end of the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo, so that means the Mile High Tree is here to stay until January 31. So, what's a tree to do but change up its playlist?
Playing holiday songs until February — that would just be irritating, so for those who go visit the 110-foot tree in Sculpture Park, it's now playing a mix of Colorado music for ya (thank goodness).
What can you hear? Well, of course, Denver's Nathaniel Rateliff and The Lumineers.
You'll even hear up-and-comers and Taste of Fort Collins performers, Wildermiss.
You'll also hear Earth, Wind & Fire's 'September,' which was recorded in Colorado at Caribou Ranch (and the lead singer is a Denver native), along with John Denver's 'Rocky Mountain High,' which is basically an unofficial Colorado anthem.
Personally, we'd love the hear Breathe Carolina screaming on loop.
Or maybe a real crowd pleaser, 3OH!3's 'Don't Trust Me' .... maybe next year.
