What is the Average Penis Size Of American Men – New Study Tells All

Although a little uncomfortable to talk about, it's a subject that comes up on a daily basis around schools, jobs, and locker rooms, and I am not just talking about guys doing it. Chicks too! Now we have some hard scientific proof telling us how big the average American's penis is. 

Penis size has been the subject of dozens of studies, as well as countless urban legends, myths and spam emails, but in a study of 1,661 men, published online July 10 in the Journal of Sexual Medicine we set a few things straight.

The average American man's penis is 5.6 inches long when erect. But not surprisingly, penises come in all shapes and sizes. The smallest erect penis in the study was about 1.6 inches long (poor fella), and the largest was 10.2 inches long (poor girlfriend). The average penile girth was about 4.8 inches.

And to put one myth to bed, the study found that other characteristics of a man, such as his race or orientation, weren't good predictors of his member's size.

Furthermore, But whether penis size truly matters to a man's sex partner is up for debate. Some research shows that women who experience vaginal orgasms do so more consistently with men of bigger girth.
