Two weeks ago, Twisted Sister said they would make a decision soon as to the future of the band. And it looks like its official: After 40 years, the band is planning to call it quits.

The news isn't a total surprise. Following the death of drummer AJ Pero on March 20, guitarist Jay Jay French admitted that the group was talking about breaking up as its 40th anniversary approaches in 2016.

Frontman Dee Snider took to Facebook to endorse TMZ's report that Twisted Sister will hang it up after next year. "It's official: farewell," he wrote. "New drummer announced .."

According to TMZ, the band will hit the road one last time for a tour they're calling Forty and F--- It. And, reportedly, they'll also be paying tribute to Pero, who died of a heart attack, with two tribute shows over the next few months.

The farewell tour will include longtime members Snider, French, bassist Mark Mendoza and guitarist Eddie Ojeda, along with Adrenaline Mob drummer Mike Portnoy. Pero was doing double duty in Adrenaline Mob, and was on the road with them when he died.

Shortly after Pero's death, French noted that Twisted Sister were thinking of calling it quits anyway. “[W]e need to look at this and say to ourselves, as a live entity, on which our reputation rests, How do we honor that history?" he said "How do we honor AJ? And how do we honor the fans’ loyalty?”
