If you've heard about a "sudden" fair/carnival in Windsor that popped up, adjust your plans. The organizers of the carnival have "postponed" the event.

I was on my way out of town after work and noticed that, at well after 6 p.m. on a Friday, there did not look like a carnival or fair was happening as it had looked the day before — the first day of the Windsor Family Fair.

I went to the Broad Space's website, where they have the notice:

Windsor Family Fair July14-23 has been postponed until further notice, due to circumstances beyond our control. Stay tuned for updates.

As you'll read below, I had mentioned, in my initial article, that traffic would be a problem; I'm not sure if that played into the cancelation. Hopefully, things will work out.

[July 13]

Out of seemingly nowhere, a carnival crew has landed in west Windsor, ready to entertain Northern Colorado for 10 days.

If you drive by the corner of Highway 392 and Colorado Boulevard (County Line Road) every day, as I do, you've suddenly noticed the tell-tale signs of a carnival getting ready to launch.

This plot of land at that southeast corner has been for sale for some time now, so why not put that open area to use? Here comes the Windsor Family Fair.

Commuters in that area will note that it's quite a mess, as they are working to expand Highway 392 right in that area. I would expect to bring extra patience when you bring the kids/grandkids out for the festivities, but it will probably be worth it.

Maybe the family has been a bit restless after the 4th of July; maybe you haven't been into Windsor for a while, and this sounds like a great reason to do so. Whatever your reason, they've brought a lot of trucks, so it should be a pretty nice outing. You could hit the carnival and then the new Betta Gumbo, which just opened in Downtown Windsor, or grab a beer or cocktail a little east of the carnival at High Hops/The Heart
