As a fun way to celebrate Bike Your Park Day/National Public Lands Day, Lory State Park is inviting members of the community to "ride with your ranger," this coming Saturday, October 7.

There will be two different opportunities during the day, in which guests bike ride through the trails of Lory State Park, accompanied by a Park Ranger, who will make stops along the way to highlight the Lory's geology, history, and spectacular wildlife. Each ride is 4.1 miles long and is appropriate for all ability levels. The first ride will leave the Soldier Picnic area at 10 a.m. and returns at noon. The second ride will start at the Soldier Picnic area at 1 p.m. and finish at 3 p.m.  The Friends of Lory State Park will also be presenting plans for a fully-remodeled bike skills park, which is their project to revitalize the regional mountain bike skills training park for youth and adults at Lory.

Activities are free to participate as long as you have a valid state park pass, which can also be purchased upon entry. Each ride is limited to 20 participants, so be sure and secure your spot as soon as possible! Register by calling the Visitor Center at 970-493-1623. Riders should bring their own bike, helmet, and water bottle.
