Happy birthday to Colorado!

We skipped out on cake this year, because 143 candles in this climate is a pretty big forest fire hazard. So instead, to celebrate, we're the ones getting the gift of free park admission into all 41 of Colorado's state parks on Monday, August 5.

While August 1 marks the official state b-day, Colorado Parks and Wildlife always observes Colorado Day on the first Monday of August with fee-free state parks.

'Colorado Day is one of our favorite days of the year. We’re always excited to provide this opportunity to all Coloradans to get out and Live Life Outside.' - Margaret Taylor, Colorado Parks and Wildlife

There are a handful of state parks near us in Northern Colorado; Lory State Park just outside Fort Collins, Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland, St. Vrain State Park near Longmont, Barr Lake near Brighton and Eldorado Spings in Boulder County.
