Summer time is great for sitting outside, drinking lemonade, swimming, climbing trees, and just generally enjoying the great Colorado weather. Why would you do any of that when you can sit inside an air-conditioned movie theater to catch the newest blockbusters? Here are the summer flicks that we are most excited about.

This Is The End

Release Date: June 12

Technically already out, howevernot everyone can get to the movies the day of. We can still be excited about it. Following in Judd Apatow's style, Seth Rogen makes his directorial debut along with Evan Goldberg. The main guys Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, and Jonah Hill are all hilarious.

Man Of Steel

Release Date: June 14

Again, this one just recently came out. The new Superman movie looks amazing; with Hans Zimmer behind the musical score, produced by Christopher Nolan, and Russell Crowe as the bad guy. Plus, it's a Superman movie. Every Superman movie up to this point has been 'meh,' if this one can't break the spell, then nothing will.

Despicable Me 2

Release Date: July 3

Call us children, but the first movie was hilarious and cute. We don't usually do cute, but this is a good movie to make an exception with.

Monsters University

Release Date: June 21

Pixar has a long-running track record of making amazing movies. Monsters Inc. was no exception. Being a college student, it was the trailer that made me want to see it. It's an exact copy of every fake and ridiculous college recruitment video I have ever seen.

The Purge

Release Date: June 7

Again, it's already out. But I haven't seen it. This movie is a little darker than Monsters University and Despicable Me 2. The gist is: one day a year, every crime is legal. You can imagine where it goes from there. Sounds like a good thriller to get all those happy feelings out of your system.
