In this day and age, technology is growing at such a rapid rate that it's often difficult to keep up. The majority of Americans have the world in the palm of their hands with information readily available as well as the means to connect to others worldwide.

The social media platform known as TikTok is one medium in which global connections are possible, but the app recently came under fire due to political reasons.

The app, which has origins in China, has come under such scrutiny as of late that an act was drawn up and passed by lawmakers, including eight congressmen and congresswomen representing Colorado.

How Did Colorado Lawmakers Vote on the TikTok Ban?

It seems like the majority of cases that are voted upon by members of the House of Representatives are, to an extent, split along party lines.

However, Colorado lawmakers all agreed on the recent vote to pass the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, also known as the TikTok Ban.

Republicans Lauren Boebert, Ken Buck, and Doug Lamborn, all approved the measure, as did Democrats Yadira Caraveo, Jason Crow, Diana DeGette, Joe Neguse, and Brittany Pettersen.

On a national scale, the act was approved by 197 Republicans and 155 Democrats with only 15 nay votes from the right and 50 from the left. In addition, seven members of Congress from each party did not participate in the vote.

If approval of the act follows the path that it's currently on, H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, could very well lead to a ban on the popular social media app.
