Introducing Funny Fridays on the X: Free Comedy Works Tickets

I'm super excited that I get to bring Funny Fridays to the X!  Live comedy is guaranteed to lift your spirits every time.  In fact, I'll just come right out & say it:  One of the reasons I get involved with this is because I like to check out these shows myself!!

This works very simply, my friend.  Listen up around 9:15 for this week's Funny Friday comic, then I'll give you a chance to hit me up at 800-595-2943 & win your tickets if you're caller 9 or 10.  That simple.  Comedy Works will keep your tickets at Will Call.

This week it's Comedian Michelle Wolf, and she's playing at the downtown/Larimer Square location tonight (Friday, 3/24/17) and tomorrow.  I have tickets for either one - your choice.

About Michelle:  

She Michelle Wolf is an on-air performer and writer for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.  Before this, she was a writing supervisor and performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she appeared regularly in various bits and as the popular reoccurring character she created, “Grown-Up Annie.”  She has also made a number of appearances on Comedy Central’s hit late night game show @Midnight and appeared on Louis CK’s Horace and Pete.  Michelle headlines comedy clubs and colleges all over the country.  She just finished up an incredibly successful first appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a sold out run of her debut hour-long stand-up show Michelle Wolf: So Brave.

About Comedy Works:

Comedy Works was located in Fort Collins, before it burned down.  Wende Curtis had managed it since sometime in the '80s, but in 1998 moved to the downtown Denver location, where she has been the owner for a long time, and since started Comedy Works South, in Greenwich Village.

I have met Wende and have a tremendous amount of respect for her, and here's why.  She doesn't let anyone take the stage at a paid show who isn't absolutely hilarious.  Even if you've never heard of the comic, which is very likely for most of us, you are guaranteed a memorable time that will leave you in a great mood.  So the standards are high.  If you go on stage drunk, for example, you will never perform at the club again.  Which would be sad, because Comedy Works Larimer Square has a nationwide reputation for being the most fun club to perform in.

I also appreciate that Wende gives you and I a chance at starting our own comedy careers.  They have new talent nights, and if you work your set enough, you can improve to the point of being an emcee, then an opening act, and eventually a touring headliner.

As for me, I have done a few new talent nights, and hit some open mics around Fort Collins.  It'll probably happen again.  You've been warned!!
