During a show last night (July 17th) at the Ottawa Bluesfest in Canada a sudden storm caused a very large stage to collapse during Cheap Trick's set. Although no one from the band was injured, there were quite of few people who did suffer injuries and were taken to the hospital including one of the bands truck driver's.

From Ultimateclassicrock.com:

Canada’s Globe and Mail reports Cheap Trick was in the middle of performing ‘I Want You to Want Me’ as the storm approached. A sudden strong gust of wind was responsible for the damage, according to reporter Ryan MacDonald: “People started screaming and crying. The stage was a rectangle and it had scaffolding, three, four stories high. The wind caught it and blew it backwards. It collapsed like a big tent. It was kind of unreal.”

Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani, who was scheduled to perform a solo show at the festival, reported on the event via twitter, indicating that he was not hurt. Obviously, organizers shut down all stages and performances for the rest of the night, and Ontario’s Ministry of Labor is investigating the accident.
