A Colorado Springs reporter is recovering from frostbite he received while attempting a dangerous live-shot last Saturday for station KRDO.

Things don't always work the way they should in the freezing cold. That's what Colorado Springs reporter, Eric Fink learned last Saturday night.

He was out reporting (on the approaching winter weather!) in 25 MPH winds with temperatures in the dangerously low teens, when his camera equipment began to have trouble. He had to pull off his gloves to fix the controls, and suffered frostbite on both hands, as a result.

WE ARE IN COLORADO, MAN! Duh! These cold snaps are hazardous! We need to remember to take them seriously. Expect the unexpected, and learn how to stay safe in the cold.

Be careful out there.
