On Monday, May 2, join 94.3 The X as we serve up a lunch time special Edge of The X acoustic performance with Sony Music/Columbia Records artist, Declan McKenna. The set starts at 12 p.m. at Illegal Pete's in Old Town Fort Collins and is free and open to the burrito-loving public.

When I was 17, I'm pretty sure I had a bucket list of petty crime I could still get away with before I was legally an adult and was, in no way, being a productive member of society, which is why it is so hard for me to believe that is the age of Declan McKenna.

What a breath of fresh air it is to see a millennial who is more into social justice, than social media, as his now-top 20 hit, 'Brazil' is about the corruption surrounding FIFA in the South American country. He told Sky News UK that Brazil is a country so ‘terribly poor in some places and terribly rich in others,’ and it's being used for gain by a major corporation.' That led him to write the song.

Wait, what? OK this kid is obviously wicked smart, but he's also incredibly talented, because before I even realized what the lyrics were, I was blasting them in my car because the song is just so catchy.

Also, if you haven't heard his new song, 'Paracetamol' (yeah, I don't know how to say it either), it's worth a listen or ten.

We hope to see you on May 2 at Illegal Pete's at 320 Walnut Street, just northeast of Old Town Square; I'll be the girl behind the potato burrito and crying a little bit because I love his tunes so much.
