It may be one of the most cliched statements  in our society today... "I am fat." Diets everywhere, gyms on every other street corner, and every third commercial you see or hear is about the latest greatest pill to lose weight. Americans are obsessed with losing weight, problem is we do a lot of complaining and thinking about losing weight, and not enough losing. Do you consider yourself overweight?

About one-third of adults in 12 states weigh so much, they are considered obese -- not just overweight, but obese -- with Mississippi topping the list at 34.9%. This is the eighth consecutive year that Mississippi has topped the list with the highest%age of obese adults. Of the 30 states that have the highest rate of adult obesity, 26 are in the Midwest and the South. That's the word from the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which annually co-author a report that tracks the percentage of obese adults state-by-state based on data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The state with the lowest rate of obesity is Colorado, where 20.7% of the adults are obese.
