ON-AIR WITH SHELBY | 'Joy' may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the morning after a party (Aspirin sooner comes to mind), but for Bastille, it is.

Bastille's proclaimed 'apocalyptic party' album, Doom Days, dropped in June, and each song on the record takes you through a different time of the night, while at this end-of-the-world soiree.

Bassist Will Farquarson jokes that one day Bastille will put out a 'happy one,' but unlike 'Good Grief' and 'Happier,' which were actually darker songs hidden under upbeat pop tunes, the Doom Days track 'Joy' is actually about just that.

Farquarson says 'Joy' is waking up the morning after the night out and hearing from someone you love. (Does someone sliding into my DMs count?)

Bastille will be at Denver's new Mission Ballroom this October.
