A bad Monday started especially early for one motorist along I-25 on May 3, 2021, as Wellington Fire Protection District had to dowse big flames engulfing the car.

It was just a little past midnight on May 3, 2021, when one engine from WFPD responded to a "car on fire" call along northbound I-25. The driver of the car had escaped the vehicle before the fire took over the whole car.

The car looks like a suped-up 2002 or 2003 Subaru Legacy, but I can't be sure, what with the fire and all.

It's a shame to see a car go up like that. I'm guessing that the owner had put a lot of work into it, to have it only get too hot and ... poof. I've blown a piston (a rod) in one of my own cars; though it didn't catch fire, it was horrible.

In this video, I like how one of the firefighters watches as the other does the job of dowsing the car, like "Have at it, Rookie."
