Each week, Townsquare Media, sponsored by FNBO, will be highlighting a Northern Colorado high school athlete as part of Townsquare Media’s High School MVP program. Each of these athletes has had an outstanding presence on the court or field and has been submitted or selected as our MVP of the week.

After an incredible performance from the Fossil Ridge boy's varsity soccer team, it's difficult to pinpoint one MVP from the team. Their success was such an amazing team effort, something that was necessary for them to have a true Cinderella run all the way to the championship game of the 2021 5A Boy's Soccer State Tournament.

Although the Sabercats lost to Grandview in the championship game, credit goes where credit is due - and that is to senior midfielder Will Boyle. After his phenomenal performances through the season and the state tournament, Will has been named this week's Townsquare Media High School MVP!

Along with being named MaxPreps's player of the game for the Sabercats' championship matchup against Grandview, Will has solidified himself statistically in an incredibly strong way in Fossil Ridge's program.

In the championship game, Will scored Fossil Ridge's lone goal of the match. Throughout playoffs, Will scored one goal in every game except one of their five playoff appearances.

In Will's senior season alone, he notched 12 goals and 27 points on the year.

We sat down with Will to reflect on the success the Sabercats saw in playoffs this year and what he wants the returning players to take away from this season into next year.
