We have a tremendous amount of incredible student-athletes here in Northern Colorado in all forms and in all sports, both boys and girls. We never hesitate to recognize them for their efforts, especially when those efforts culminate in a state championship. In back-to-back years.

That's exactly what the Eaton Reds football team pulled over the weekend by earning a hard-fought victory over the Brush Beatdiggers down in Pueblo on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The Reds brought the championship trophy back to Weld County again and sure, they won it last year, but this year had to be extra special because of the fact that their fans were there with them every step of the way at the games cheering them on and going crazy.

Especially this weekend for the state title.

What a way for this senior class to go out, with back-to-back state championships to always be able to look back on and be proud of. Last year's 28-12 win over Lamar and this season's 26-14 win over a gritty and tough Brush football team with a brilliant rushing attack that gained over 200 yards between three different running backs.

Many of those yards came in an exciting fourth quarter that saw the Reds trailing 14-13 with about 10 minutes left in the game.

So, congratulations to these young men and coaches on a tremendous season and a job well done. It takes a massive amount of work to win one title, let alone two, and with a target on your back every game and the insane amount of pressure to "do it again".

To actually do it again is an amazing accomplishment and a great tribute as well.

On behalf of all of us here at Townsquare Media, congratulations to Eaton High School and the entire community of Eaton. We're so happy for you!
