The winter weather is waning, and warmer temperatures are slowly creeping in. Soon, Colorado will be in full-on summer mode.

You probably already have an idea of how you're going to spend this summer. Maybe you'll frequent the Fort Collins breweries, attend the Loveland Summer Concert Series, or take a much-needed vacation.

You don't need an ocean to surf when you have sand dunes. It's around five hours away from Northern Colorado, but the feeling of sliding down a mountain in the summer will be worth it. Check out the National Park Service's sand surfing safety tips here.

4. Eat your heart out (or just hang out) at Casa Bonita.

Hopefully, the buzz around Casa Bonita's grand reopening will be calmer by summertime. It allegedly will have the same fun vibes but with way better food.

5. See a show at the Mishawaka.

It's more than a concert when you're in the Poudre Canyon — it's an experience. See the 2023 lineup here (and don't forget about reserving a ride). You could also try rafting the Poudre River beforehand.

6. Feel like a kid again at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
