If you're planning on taking your kids trick-or-treating this Halloween, Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment says these guidelines will help you do it safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Only go trick-or-treating with people you live with
  • Stay at least six feet away from other groups
  • Those who are not feeling well, or are immune compromised, should not go
  • Sanitize your hands between homes
  • Do not touch your face
  • Remember to wear a mask if you are handing out candy at home
  • Do not use a bowl that people will reach into
  • Place candy outside on a table, spaced out
  • Disinfect your doorbell

Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment says to keep in mind that the more households you visit, the higher risk of virus spread. You can see more guidelines from Denver's health officials on celebrating Halloween this year, like costume masks, parties and haunted houses, here.
