Recently, we sat down with Sean Van Vleet, who is the principal songwriter and vocalist for the fantastic music project, Blame My Youth.

Their song, "The Break", has become a new favorite amongst 94.3 The X listeners, and has been frequently featured in our "New Music Discovery" section.

Originally coming out of Chicago, Van Vleet has had quite the journey to getting his band to where they are now; being seen as one of the hottest new acts in the alternative scene right now.

In fact, he’s such a veteran songwriter that it’s hard to call him an up-and-comer by any means.

More on Blame My Youth

After his first band folded, Sean kept himself busy.

He found much more time to be able to collaborate with other artists and to hone his craft as a songwriter.

But more importantly, he started Blame My Youth.

They picked up steam after their song “Right Where You Belong” was featured in the closing credits for Bill & Ted Face the Music

Ever since, they have multiple songs that have picked up steam on alternative charts and have played sets anywhere from Lollapalooza to the Late Show, all the while touring both in the US and UK.
