The ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer is Out: Another Superman Reboot?!

Yesterday, the first official trailer for 'Man of Steel' came out and I decided to share my thoughts on the whole thing. You can watch the trailer below first if you're curious.

The "Man of Steel" is of course the one and only Superman! This is Hollywood we're talking about, so I'm not exactly surprised. That doesn't mean I have to be excited about another Superman movie either. The movie looks dark, with stunning special effects! These aren't the problem. No, my problem is with Superman himself.

This is a super hero with who has every power you could ask for. He has super-human strength, he can fly, and almost nothing can kill him. Almost... The one weakness of Superman has always been Kryptonite.  Gee, I wonder what possible thing this movie's villain will do to try and defeat Superman?

The biggest problem with Superman is that he's too powerful. These days, people want realistic. We all know that super heroes like 'Iron Man' will never exist  Still, they way they come to be is REALISTIC! Their powers and weaknesses are REALISTIC. The movie convinces me that such a thing could actually happen in real life.

Superman isn't realistic from the start. The guy is from another planet, but looks exactly like everyone else. He has all these powers and in every movie he somehow ALWAYS manages to have a run-in with Kryptonite.

Superman represents everything people are complaining about with today's movie industry. All that being said, I'm still a sucker for all the other superhero movies that we've had in recent years. 'The Amazing Spiderman' was actually very well done compared to the last 3 movies before it. Who knows, maybe the 'Man of Steel' will prove me wrong? Not likely though...
