When the hell did I become officially old? Sure, I’ve been suffering through a mid-life crisis for the past few years, buying a convertible sports car and all, but it takes something like this to make me truly feel old: American musical legends, the Beach Boys, celebrate their 50th Anniversary this year and I can still recall bopping to their hits on the radio like it was just yesterday!

Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks will come together for a new studio album and commemorative catalog releases with Capitol/EMI and a 50-date international tour to begin in April. Says Al Jardine,

The Beach Boys were recently inducted into the California Hall of Fame. From our humble beginnings as brothers, cousins and friends, we have been honored to sing the praises of California, and I’m really excited for our fans to be able to see us again in concert on the world stage, and to celebrate our 50th anniversary together with a new studio album.

Be sure to catch the Beach Boys’ performance on next month’s Grammy Awards and be sure to check back to 94.3 MAX-FM for the details on the Beach Boys’ 2012 Reunion Tour. Meanwhile, take a trip down memory lane with this Beach Boys 1963 performance of Surfin’ USA.
