This year, we created the Taste of Fort Collins lineup a bit differently than in the past because, well, we didn't really do it — you all did. We asked you to vote for the local bands you wanted to see open up for our headlining acts, Lovelytheband and DREAMERS

On Saturday, June 8, we welcome Boulder alt-pop group Pacific Nerve to Washington Park. They met at Monarch High School in Louisville, Colorado, but Taste of Fort Collins is actually one of Pacific Nerve's first shows together.

'As Pacific Nerve, we're still a very young band,' they said. 'In fact, Taste of Fort Collins will be one of our first five shows. However, we've played and attended shows all over Colorado throughout our musical lives.'

'We will be performing alongside artists that have been incredibly influential in our lives, and have been part of our playlists for years, which is a true dream come true.'

'There's also something pretty incredible to be said about kicking the summer off by playing an outdoor festival set at one of the premier events in Colorado,' Pacific Nerve said. 'We love these songs that we're going to be performing, and we're so excited to play them live this summer at Taste of Fort Collins!'

We're mutually excited to meet Pacific Nerve. They're fans of The 1975, Young The Giant, Foo Fighters and Linkin Park, so we already have quite a bit in common.

Another band that's been heavily influential to Pacific Nerve is REM (well, and staying up really late, too).

'We were all together up past midnight on a writing weekend in Conifer,' they said. 'We were watching an REM documentary and they said that they had found their band name by looking in a dictionary, so we all started reading through a dictionary, picking out cool words. We all fell in love with how 'Pacific Nerve' sounded, and the way that it really brought to life our sound within a band name.'

We'll give you a taste of Pacific Nerve on Saturday, June 8, leading up to DREAMERS and '80s icon, Rick Springfield. Taste of Fort Collins is a Townsquare Media event, sponsored by First National Bank. See the full 2019 lineup of performers here.
