The Northern Colorado Down Syndrome Association (NCDSA) is putting on its annual NoCo Down Syndrome Walk October 1 from 10am-1pm at Boardwalk Park in Winsdor, Colorado.

"Tuned In to NoCo" was able to speak with the NoCo Down Syndrome Walk Co-Chair, Brittany Schiager, who says the walk is a great way for our community to come together and get involved.

"We are striving for inclusion and advocacy...It's really a great opportunity to learn more about our kids and people with Down syndrome, and people with disabilities in general, and bring that awareness to our community."

Schiager says the goal of NCDSA is to not only provide support to individuals with Down syndrome but their families and friends as well, and they accomplish this through a myriad of ways.

"We do it through advocacy, building relationships and bringing awareness to Down syndrome by holding fun events for our families and our community — like our down syndrome walk."

Along with these events, NCDSA offers a wide variety of programs and scholarships to help children and individuals with Down syndrome. For more information about NCDSA or the walk click here.
