During times of natural disasters, we all face fear. Kids are especially volunerable and ask a lot of questions about what is going on. We found some advice from a local professional to help. A spot fire started last night at the High Park Fire. This spot fire is estimated at 200 acres this afternoon. The Larimer Country Sheriff’s Office says about 100 firefighters are working this spot fire in addition to an air attack.  These resources are focusing on structure protection in the Glacier View area.

We need some rain and we need it badly!  The High Park Fire is now  over 50 thousand acres and it is still growing! So, Dave Jensen, Todd Harding and I decided to do our own rain dance.  Yesterday I wrote an article on how to do an authentic Native American Rain Dance so we decided to give it a go. We grabbed the camera and headed to the parking lot.  The dance is in no way meant to offend anyone

The High Park Fire west of Fort Collins is currently at 52,000 acres with 15% containment. The fire only grew approximately 2,000 acres yesterday. This is the lowest daily growth to date. However, fire officials issued some late night evacuations last night after the Fire jumped the Poudre River.

The City of Fort Collins Utilities wants residents to know it’s taking steps to make sure the cities drinking water is not affected by the High Park Fire. Fort Collins’ drinking water quality has not been affected by recent fires. Officials can expect Fort Collins’ water quality to remain at an expected high level.
