As a music fan there is always something new and great, but there really is something special about the songs you grew up listening to. For me, that was 70′s and 80′s classic rock. If I am in a shi**y mood, I throw in a little Zeppelin or Rush and take a trip back to rolling in my mom’s T-Bird. Now every Wednesday you get to take that trip with me. It’s Way Back Wednesday with Butch, and today’s feature is from this bands album that went platinum on this day 30 years ago… Scorpions', “Still Loving You."

Love at First Sting was the ninth studio album by the German band, and was released on March 27, 1984. It became the group's most successful album in the USA, where it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1984, and ended up going double-platinum by the end of the year, reaching triple-platinum status in 1995.

Although the big hit on the album was "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Still Loving You" didn't do too shabby either. The power ballad was the second single of the album, reaching #64 on Billboard Hot 100.

This song hit the charts all over the world, but it was especially popular in France, where it went to #1. In fact, it was so popular that it may have increased the population of the country. Rudolf Schenker said, "'Still Loving You,' the song of love, created a baby boom in France. But we didn't believe it, either, you know? We were on a TV show in France between recordings, and the host, a very famous guy that interviews us each year, goes, 'Hey, guys, you know that you are responsible for the baby boom in '85.' We were laughing like crazy! And yes, it's been measured by the government. It's unbelievable, I tell you."

Now take a trip back 30 years with us to 1984...
