As a music fan there is always something new and great, but there really is something special about the songs you grew up listening to. For me, that was 70′s and 80′s classic rock. If I am in a shi**y mood, I throw in a little Zeppelin or Rush and take a trip back to rolling in my mom’s T-Bird. Now every Wednesday you get to take that trip with me. It’s Way Back Wednesday with Butch, and today’s feature is only from 10 years ago, but features a band that will be hitting Red Rocks one week from today on August 13th…Pepper and “Ashes.”

Normally this feature each week is dedicated to a song that we don't play on the air normally from way back when, but this week I mixed it up a bit. I only went back 10 years to 2004, and my favorite band to see live, Pepper.

The Hawaiian rockers formed back in 1996, and released their most successful album in 2004. In with the Old also includes the bands biggest commercial hit "Ashes." The album got to No. 35 on the Billboard Heat Seekers and No. 18 on the independent albums chart.

Pepper has toured the world giving fans one of the wildest, most energetic live shows of any band out there, and will be bringing that to Colorado in one week (August 13). Pepper will be joined at Red Rocks by fellow surf/dub rockers, the Dirty Heads. Tickets and details here.

Now take a trip back 10 years with us to 2004 here...
