It's been five years since Falcon Heene, a six-year old boy from Ft. Collins floated away in a silver balloon.

On October 15th, 2009, the country watched in horror as a small boy was swept into the sky, trapped in a silver helium weather balloon.  Authorities stopped traffic and grounded planes. The National Guard gathered troops and deployed helicopters but could do nothing. We were all glued to our televisions as we watched six-year old Falcon Heene soar over Colorado for more than an hour, reaching altitudes of 7,000 feet.

Except that he didn't. He wasn't even in the silver balloon. He was hiding in the attic of his family's home the entire time. Safe. It was a hoax.

Richard and Mayumi Heene, Falcon's parents, served short jail sentences and were fined thousands of dollars in restitution. The family moved to Florida and appeared on reality television.

And the boy? He started a metal band, of course! Falcon, with his brothers Bradford and Ryo, have formed what they're calling "The World's Youngest Metal Band",  The Heene Boyz. Strange, but true.
