Red Rocks Celebrated Its Birthday This Week, Just How Old Is It?
Yeah, it's had some work done over the years, but there's no denying that Red Rocks looks good for its age...
Like... really, really good, because Red Rocks is around 200 million years old, according to The Denver Post.
OK, Red Rocks did not celebrate turning 200 million this last weekend. The actual rock formation itself is millions of years in the making — sure — but there's no way you're gonna fit that many candles on a cake.
The Red Rocks Amphitheatre we know celebrated turning 78 last week. After several years of construction, Red Rocks first opened to the public on June 15, 1941. You can see photos of what it looked like in the 1940s via KDVR.
