Northern Colorado Snow Closures and Delays [Feb. 22]
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow at the start of the month, and we all know what that means: winter isn’t done with us yet.
Be prepared for about 5 inches of snow along the Front Range, with high winds and cold temperatures rounding out this storm.
Winter storm warnings and watches have been issued
The National Weather Service office in Boulder has issued a winter storm warning for all of Larimer County, and parts of northern Weld County starting at midnight tonight until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud and Wellington can expect between 4 to 8 inches of snow and winds of up to 45 miles per hour.
Southern Weld county is under a winter weather advisory starting at 2 a.m. Wendesday and ending at 8 p.m. This advisory is less severe than a warning but means Windsor, Greeley, Evans and Eaton could see between 3 to 6 inches of snow and 45-mile-per-hour winds.
Some Northern Colorado communities have canceled school and government operations on Wednesday, Feb. 22
Fort Collins Snow Closures and Delays
Poudre School District has canceled all classes and activities.
Colorado State University has not yet announced any closures.
The City of Fort Collins buildings and facilities have delayed opening to 10 a.m. The Gardens on Spring Creek will delay opening to noon. The Farm at Lee Martinez Park and the Timberline Recycling Center will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
Loveland Snow Closures and Delays
Thompson School District has canceled all classes and activities.
The City of Loveland facilities will delay opening to 10 a.m. Trash is expected to remain on schedule. The Loveland Resource Center and Overnight Shelter are open through Friday. Call 970-96202951 to check capacity.
Greeley Snow Closures and Delays
Greeley District 6 will be closed.
The University of Northern Colorado has not yet announced any closures.
Windsor Snow Closures and Delays
Weld RE-4 has canceled all classes and activities, including Alphabest programming.
