Loveland’s Famous Nordy’s BBQ is Limiting Its Hours Because of a Staffing Shortage

Don't worry. You can still enjoy delectable food from the famous Nordy's BBQ & Grill in Loveland — just not every day.

Starting on Monday (May 2), the beloved restaurant is closing on Mondays and Tuesdays because of a staffing shortage.

The eatery announced the news in a Wednesday (April 27) Facebook post, stating that they "are having trouble hiring enough staff to support the high demand of our restaurant."

"We hope for this to be temporary and we will re-open on those days as soon as we are fully staffed," read the post. "Thank you for your understanding, your support, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Nordy's is not the only Colorado restaurant to struggle with staffing, especially since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In January, The Breakfast King, Denver's iconic diner, shuttered its doors for good after facing long-term staffing issues. The Mile High City said goodbye to another restaurant, Irish Snug, for similar reasons that same month.

Pandemic struggles also forced the closure of one of Fort Collins' oldest restaurants, Pobre Panchos, earlier this month. In June of 2020, employees refused to attend work at Old Town's Ku Cha House of Tea because of COVID-19 safety concerns.
