New CSU Coach Wins National Title, Then Messages CSU Fans
In a game where the Alabama defense will get most of the credit, in fact shutting out the LSU Tigers in the BCS National Championship Game, new CSU coach Jim McElwain was on the other side of the ball. McElwain was the offensive coordinator for the now national champion Crimson Tide. After winning his second title in three years with Alabama, McElwain had a message for CSU fans.
After the game, the coach tweeted to Rams fans from the field.
Here is Coach McElwain’s tweet: Been a great ride. Two national championships in three years. Let’s go win one at Colorado State!
Although Alabama wasn't know for being an offensive powerhouse, they did put up 21 points against a defense that was right up there with their own in most categories, and they also produced a Heisman Trophy winner in Mark Ingram in 2009 and a finalist for the award this year in running back Trent Richardson.
McElwain accepted the Colorado State University head coaching job December 13th and has been pulling double duty to prepare for the National Championship and get ready to lead the Rams next season.
