Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx Endorses Colorado Folk Band, The Lumineers
During a round of #AskSixx, Twitter users requested a music suggestion from Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx, so in case you were wondering what an '80s hard rock icon listens to, it's The Lumineers.
The Colorado folk group got a shoutout from the bassist, who replied to the tweet with only a screenshot of his Apple Music playing the track 'Big Shot' by The Lumineers. The mellow, almost somber song from the band comes as somewhat of a surprise choice from the Nikki Sixx, known for songs like 'Girls Girls Girls,' 'Wild Side' and 'Dr. Feelgood.' But hey, hair metal dudes gotta chill, too.
'Big Shot' dropped earlier this month, one of two released tracks from the upcoming fourth studio album, Brightside, which is set for a January 14, 2022 arrival.
As for Sixx, he's actually not to far from the Mile High these days. In 2020, Sixx relocated to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with his family. U.S. News reported that Sixx said that Los Angeles 'was starting to feel overpopulated and calculated.'
'Rumors that people were buying bulletproof backpacks for children going back to school made him wonder whether he wanted something different for his 1-year-old daughter, so he and his wife, Courtney, started looking,' U.S. News wrote, adding that Sixx reportedly loves living in the small Wyoming town. It's even his cover photo on Twitter.
So basically, this guy is currently fishing somewhere in Wyoming listening to The Lumineers, and we love to see it.
