From July 25, 2021, through July 29, 2021, be on the lookout for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in the skies, traveling back and forth from Cheyenne.

It's just one of those scenarios that they have to roll with, as the Thunderbirds don't have a place to stay while in the area for their July 28, 2021 show at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Normally, they would use the Cheyenne Regional Airport, but it is going through renovations, so it can't handle the Thunderbirds this year. The Northern Colorado Regional Airport is the closest airport that's suitable for the Thunderbirds.

The USAF Thunderbirds are scheduled for a 2-hour 'Wings Over Warren' Airshow on July 28, 2021, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base for Cheyenne Frontier Days. F. E. Warren doesn't have a runway for fixed-wing aircraft, it's unique that way.

While the Thunderbirds stay in Loveland, there will be no public viewing options, for the safety of the public and maintain regular flights at the airport. I would expect to see a lot of 'road closed except to... ' signs.

What happens at the USAF Thunderbirds Airshow?

From Cheyenne Frontier Days:

In every hour-long demonstration, the team combines years of training and experience with an attitude of excellence to showcase what the Air Force is all about. The sharply choreographed, drill-style ground ceremony kicks off the demonstration by showcasing the attention to detail and esprit de corps that defines our enlisted members. As the jets take to the skies and fly only a few feet from wingtip to wingtip, the crowd gets a glimpse of the awesome skills and capabilities that all fighter pilots must possess.

Though the Thunderbirds are only scheduled for one performance, Northern Colorado Regional Aiport wants to let people within a 10-mile radius of the airport expect jet noise between July 25 and July 29, 2021.
