Guilty... I've done it. Chances are, if you have ever been a senior in high school or in a local band, you have, too.

A lot of people are unaware (self included) that taking photos on railroad tracks is actually totally illegal, and with a train that runs right down the middle of town, most of us have done it and not thought anything of it (aside from making sure a train wasn't coming, of course).

According to SLR Lounge, not only is it illegal, but 'Union Pacific will seek removal from publication any photograph or video that violates this policy.'

Union Pacific reminds photographers that railroad tracks are dangerous, as trains cannot stop quickly. UPRR says you can actually wind up getting cited for trespassing if caught on or near the tracks.

So, seniors, maybe stick to peaking out from behind a tree. And, next time your band's gonna drop a new album... maybe seek other locations; the 'standing on the railroad tracks' thing is a little cliche anyway, yeah?
