Hey, Northern Colorado! I'm Shelby, and I'm your new alternative midday afternoon drive girl on 94.3 The X, Front Range Alternative. Let's get to know each other!
I'm so excited to be working on this new station, because I LOVE this kind of music, and I never thought I'd be so lucky to be the one bringing it to the front range from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday — yeah, that was my shameless plug. So, I guess I'm like, your morning host if you stayed up too late binge watching Netflix again. This station is going to be a breath of fresh air for those of us in Northern Colorado who wanted a station that catered to music lovers, the local music scene, and the awesome new venues in town.
So, a little about me. I'm not a Northern Colorado native, but I love it here so much, I usually lie about that. Growing up, I guess I could have had an iPod... but I always chose radio as my medium of choice. I found my own spot on the air in college, when I got dumped by a guy, and the only thing I felt like doing was sitting alone in a dark room and playing depressing break up music. Radio is like, perfect for that! The walls are even padded.
Back then, I hosted my show under the name DJ Tanner because of my love for Uncle Jesse and, of course, the acid-washed hodge podge we call ‘the 90s.’ Now, I’m all grown up, and just being Shelby. You got it, dude?
Sometimes, I leave this really dark studio to get some vitamin D, and enjoy all the great things Northern Colorado has to offer, like 24-hour coffee shops, scenic bike rides, mom and pop record stores, and entertaining myself while waiting for the train.
