Downtown Windsor will have a new spot for after work gatherings and happy hour drinks. The Tipsy Cricket has moved into the former Toast location on 4th Street and Main, and the tavern is having a soft opening all weekend, starting on Friday, August 27 until Sunday, August 29, 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.

'So much love and hard work is going into this new concept,' the Tipsy Cricket posted on its Facebook page. 'Think downtown tavern with delicious drinks, small plates, and great people.'

The new pub says that it will serve wine, beer, bites and more and is also hiring bar staff. The Tipsy Cricket's location is in a recently-revamped area of Windsor, near the rebuilt Windsor Mill building, and underneath the Hearth restaurant. Fires and tornados included, the area looks much different now than it did ten years ago.

Previously, 205 4th Street was occupied by Toast, a wine-serving coffee bar. Toast didn't close completely, however. The coffee bar announced in June that it would be making the shift to solely doing catering and online events, which made its brick and mortar available real estate.

Earlier in August, Windsor's Lonesome Buck and YUZU Asian Cafe on Main Street also announced their closures. What will take their places is yet to be determined.
