Santa Left, But There’s Still Lots of Free Ice Skating Left in Old Town Square
There aren't many places in the Fort Collins are with ice skating, let alone free ice skating, this season. Luckily, one of the coolest places will keep it running well after the holidays.
Hundreds of kids got to see Santa at his workshop at Old Town Square before Christmas of 2022. Now that Christmas has passed, things have slowed down, but not so much that we can't get out of the house for a little fun.
It was in November of 2022, that the Promenade Shops at Centerra announced that their annual skating rink would not be happening for the season, leaving many wondering where to go. The Downtown Development Authority of Fort Collins opened up their [shop] for the 2022-2023 season just before Thanksgiving.
You don't even need reservations to enjoy the ice rink in Old Town Square, which provides skates for free, as well. When you head into Old Town, be sure to check out how they have re-done Linden, because it's amazing. With all the great dining and clubs in Old Town, the ice skating part is not just for kids.
Perhaps a date-night in Old Town will begin with some fun ice skating, then dinner and drinks, and then somebody "popping the question" under the holiday lights. It can get very romantic in Old Town, for sure.
