Driver Intentionally Plows Vehicle Through Berthoud High School
Berthoud High School experienced significant damage after a driver intentionally crashed through an entrance, drove the vehicle down a short hallway and then proceeded to speed out of another doorway in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office responded to the report around 3:45 a.m. and began a criminal investigation in search of a suspect driver. Although classes at Berthoud High School were functioning normally as of Wednesday, it could take as long as six weeks for the damaged doorways to be repaired. Two classrooms also remained closed during the school hours on Wednesday as a result of the incident, and the school's secretary explained that glass was everywhere. School officials say that while insurance will cover some of the destruction, there's potentially thousands of dollars worth of damage that's been done to the building. No injuries were reported and no further details, including the suspect's identity have been released as of yet.
