When our live music venues closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Holiday Twin Drive-In theater stepped up and became our socially-distant safe place to see our favorite Colorado bands. Not all heroes wear capes

Though doors are reopening for indoor venues, the Holiday Twin will resume the Drive & Jive concert series in partnership with FoCoMX - Fort Collins Music eXperiment, starting Sunday, July 11. The lineup has yet to be announced, but last year, local favorites like HoldFast. and The Timberline took the stage.

'We've got eight concerts featuring all Colorado bands,' FoCoMX posted on Facebook. 'Expect to see some local big-time favorites, as well as new discovery artists that will blow your socks off.'

A few shows are ticketed, while others are free to attend.

The Holiday Twin will also be hosting its second-annual drive-in Fourth of July celebration. Like last year, there won't be a fireworks show at City Park, so here's another festive option for Fort Collins residents who want to stay in town.

The Holiday Twin's July 4 drive-in event will have live music from the Fort Collins Symphony until 10:30 p.m., followed by a showing of 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' on one screen, and 'Boss Baby 2' on the other.

General admission is $42.50 per car (four people), and a VIP package is available for $100 per person. VIP includes seating close to the stage with a five-course meal, premium wine and beer and, of course, popcorn and movie snacks. Tickets can be purchased here.
