An Aspen testing center is under fire for allegedly refusing to give conservative pundit Candace Owens a COVID-19 test last week.

According to Insider, Owens was vacationing with her family in the mountain town when she attempted to get tested at Aspen Laboratories; however, the facility reportedly denied her request.

The commentator tweeted an email from the center, in which owner Suzanna Lee stated that she would not give Owens a test because she could not "support anyone who has pro-actively worked to make this pandemic worse by spreading misinformation, politcizing and DISCOURAGING the wearing of masks and actively dissuading people from receiving life-saving vaccinations."

Owens, who has previously referred to herself as "proudly unvaccinated and unmasked," called the email "hilarious."

She elaborated on the situation in an Instagram Live, accusing Lee of politicizing the COVID-19 pandemic and Googling her potential clients.

Lee later told Aspen Daily News that she "barely" knows who Owens is and noted that she wrote the email to support her staff, who were allegedly concerned about the conservative pundit getting a test.

In a now-deleted statement published by Insider, Lee and her Aspen Laboratories co-owner Isaac Flanagan said that, as a privately-owned business, the facility is legally able to deny services to whomever they choose.

However, Owens claims that Aspen Laboratories is a recipient of state and federal funding and cannot deny her service. She said on Twitter that she plans to report the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
