Massive Marijuana Recall Just Took Place in Colorado

Sometimes it can be unfair. In fact, we don’t even the number one place for marijuana anymore. 

The place that took the top spot for pot in 2023 was actually Portland, Oregon, beating out Denver.

However, there’s still plenty of dispensaries and weed related activities if you’re into that sort of thing.

For example, you can always check out the International Church of Cannabis out in Denver.

However, something a bit more serious took place with a batch of weed that can have some dangerous effects.

Possible Mold Contaminated Marijuana Recalled in Colorado

Recently, 9News reported that there were batches of marijuana that was sold in Colorado that could be possibly contaminated.

The batches were said to have yeast and mold in them that surpassed acceptable limits. 

In a Health and Safety Advisory, it was said the mold posed a public health risk for anyone who possibly bought and/or consumed the cannabis.

The retail and medical cultivation license numbers for these batches are 403R-01387 and 403-02231. 

The contaminated batch numbers are FACOFF 242903, CAKEB 242903, ZEROG 242903, PINEB 242903, and HALLE 242903.

What Does Moldy Marijuana Look Like?

If you bought weed from this batch or just simply want to know, there’s a few things to look at.

According to Healthline, and as some of you may already know, pot will usually have small and shiny crystals called trichomes.

If your weed looks like it isn’t glistening, and instead looks sort of like it has a coat of white or gray dust, it is likely mold.

It may also smell strange too, with some saying it smells like hay. Others say it simply has a mildewy sort of odor.

What Will Smoking Moldy Weed Do?

While you definitely should not smoke moldy cannabis, the effects may be pretty mild for most.

According to My Pure Environment, it doesn’t usually have long term side effects. All it does for most people is taste bad and make you cough. It also can cause nausea as well.

However, you need to be careful if you’re allergic to mold, or if you have a weakened immune system. You can get a much more dangerous infection that way.
