Colorado Climber Catches 60-Foot Fall on Video
Incredibly, he survived. 26-year-old Kyle Walker was climbing the Flatirons in Boulder when he lost his grip and fell 60 feet.
According to a video shared by Viral Hog and The Weather Channel, Walker's GoPro camera was attached to his chest when he fell. He suffered a punctured a lung, broke both wrists, eight of his ribs and his pelvis (but, ultimately, he was very lucky).
He was in and out of consciousness for one hour before another hiker found him, and miraculously, he is OK now, but has been in rehabilitation, the video says.
Walker also shared the video (below) on his YouTube channel, and based on the comments, it doesn't seem like this fall will keep him from climbing again in the future.
According to the Wilderness and Environmental Medical Journal (via ThoutCo),85% of climbing accidents happen at the Flatirons, Boulder Canyon and Eldorado Canyon.
