Seems like just yesterday we found out that we would be rocking out with Blue Oyster Cult and Cheap Trick at the Taste of Country Concert’s at the Greeley Stampede, now after months of waiting we are only two days away!  These two classic rock mega stars will be energizing Northern Colorado this Saturday at the Greeley Stampede!

I don't know if I can get much more excited, so to help you catch me on that excitement meter we here at MAX-FM have decided to feed you a little Cheap Trick and BOC in small batches leading up to the show. Everyday this week I will feature a Video of the Day that showcases one of the band’s hits.

Today, Blue Oyster Cult returns to the spotlight with their 1977 song that pays homage to the Japanese movie monster with the same name, "Godzilla."

Although the album, Spectres, was considered a failure by most, "Godzilla" still became one of the band's biggest hits. It has been featured in films, video games, television shows, and covered by numerous bands including Fu Manchu, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Sebastian Bach. It is also the song that baseball superstar Hideki Matsui, who's nickname is Godzilla, uses as he comes up to bat at home games. Now what are they saying during the second half of the song? That would be Japanese words that translate to:  "Attention, emergency news! Attention, emergency news! Godzilla is going toward the Ginza area! Immediately escape, catch up, find shelter please! Immediately escape, catch up, find shelter please!"
