You Need To See What This Girl Does After Her Phone Falls At Rocky Mountain National Park
I honestly don't know what I'd do if this ever happened to me (actually, I do - I'd probably have a panic attack.)
They say you learn something new every day - thanks to the world of TikTok, I'd say that statement holds truer now than ever before.
I was in the midst of my 3-hour scan through the millions of videos on the popular social media platform the other night when I came across this video:
The first clip of the video features a still photo of a group of girls - completely normal - along with title words that read "When your iPhone takes a tumble down the Rocky Mountains".
It was at this point in the video - aka the very beginning - that I knew I had to keep watching, and it wasn't because of the group photo.
Could you fathom the thought of your phone taking a tumble down the Rocky Mountains? Because I simply cannot.
As per the video posted by TikTok user @jojo_cat22, it seems as though a group of girls had been hanging out and/or standing along one of the overlooks at Rocky Mountain National Park when one of the girls did the unthinkable - she dropped her phone over the overlook railing, sending it several feet down into another, seemingly unreachable area in the park.
What do you think the girls were going to do? Leave the phone stranded down there all alone? Please.
These girls were not about to stare that phone down without making an attempt to save it - instead, the group came up with the, quite frankly, genius idea to drive over to a store to grab some sort of contraption that would (hopefully) extend far enough down to safely secure the phone.
That contraption? A catching net. (like I said, pretty genius.)
As the video continues, the girls return back to the sight in the park where the phone was dropped and make the attempt to rescue it.
Although we, unfortunately, don't get to see exactly how long it took the girls to rescue the phone, the attempt was, in fact, successful.
Moral of the story: if you ever drop your phone over an overlook at Rocky Mountain National Park (or quite honestly, anywhere) and you think you're doomed, here are three things to keep in mind -
- You are not doomed - if there's a will, there's a way.
- Head back to your car and drive to the nearest store. Find and purchase a catching net - or something similar - and make your way back to your phone.
- Rescue your phone, and vow never to be so clumsy with it ever again.
One new thing I learned today - is to always keep a catching net in your car. You never know when you might drop your phone farther than your hands can reach.
