It's always prudent to be frugal this time of year, and 'free' fits right into that idea. How about a free bridge from the Royal Gorge area?

Have you ever gone river rafting in the Arkansas River near the Royal Gorge? I have, and it's awesome. Right along Highway 50 in that area of southern Colorado is a bridge that can be yours.

According to the Colorado Sun, the bridge dates back to 1915 and is owned by Fremont County, but is maintained by Martin Marrietta, which uses the 80-foot-long, 14-feet-wide bridge for their quarry nearby.

The bridge would have needed repairs if Martin Marietta wanted to continue using it, but the company decided building a new bridge would be cheaper overall.

So, they are giving the bridge away to the right taker. I guess 'the right taker' would have to be someone who can actually move the 20-ton bridge.

Check it out, maybe you know of a friend in need of a bridge?

Who wants a free bridge?
