After hearing from the community and using 2021 to be intentional about what would be built, the Town of Windsor has scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow (Dec. 14) to celebrate the completion of the new Windsor Village Park.

The ceremony is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

During the ceremony, anyone from the public is welcome to attend and ask any questions to the parties involved in the construction.

The new park will include updated equipment as the preexisting park was outdated. There will be swings, rope climbing features, and more at the new, functional playground.

More forward building progress is being made in and around Windsor

The Town of Windsor announced on Wednesday, Dec. 1, that they had purchased 138 acres of land with the intention of keeping up with the rapidly growing population of the area.

A $4.14 million purchase, the land is reportedly set to be used for parks and open spaces, a new police facility, expansion of Windsor's public works property, and the Weld RE-4 School District.

In fact, about 40 acres have been allotted for purchase by the school district.

The land purchased is located next to the town's existing Public Services facility.

Windsor also plans to look at accommodations that may need to be made to County Road 15 and County Road 70 to account for additional traffic.
