This is what we'd call a 'cautionary tale.' You may have parked in front of a fire hydrant before, thinking it was 'no big,' because I mean, is there really going to be fire?

Well, yeah, there could really be a fire. There was one this week in Anaheim, California, and the fire department had to access the hydrant — one way or another.

Anaheim Fire and Rescue shared the photos below on Twitter as a little visual reminder of why you shouldn't ever block a hydrant or park in a fire lane.

We reached out to Fort Collins Police Services spokesperson Kate Kimble, who said that parking in front of a fire hydrant in Fort Collins is a $25 ticket, however there could be additional legal ramifications, or like, some busted out windows on your car.
