The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's help in gathering information regarding a homicide victim who was found over the weekend near Johnstown, as well a missing potential second victim who is believed to be alive.

According to a post via the Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, WCSO officials first began investigating the homicide at about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 21); deputies had initially responded to a report of a suspicious death in the 23600 block of Blake Street in unincorporated Weld County outside of Johnstown.

The victim, who has been positively identified as 40-year-old Gilbert Gutierrez was found deceased and reportedly suffered from blunt force trauma.

A Second Victim Identified

During the investigation into the death of Gibert Gutierrez, detectives with the Weld County Sheriff's Office received information regarding a potential second victim, who has since been recognized as 26-year-old Oscar Eduardo Valles Avila (pictured below).

According to WCSO, Avila was last seen over the weekend, at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 20). At this time, the 26-year-old is still considered missing and could very well be in danger.

In addition, detectives with the Weld County Sheriff's Office are also conducting an investigation into Avila’s connection to a 2015-2017 white Toyota Camry (pictured in this post for reference.)
