The Denver Zoo says that 'social feeding' is a very important part of life to African wild dogs. And in a win-win situation, it looks like a lot of fun for the handlers as well.

So, this slingshot might be just a touch bigger than the one I had as a kid.

I don't know why I find the zoo's method of feeding some of their charges so fascinating. Is it the slingshot, or the sight of nature in action as about a dozen wild dogs go after the food being flung into their habitat? Either way, it's captivating.
